Hi @blockmodule, Thank you for sharing your experience. I can understand why the recent pricing and credit changes feel frustrating, especially for users who renewed their subscriptions under previous expectations. Feedback like yours is valuable because it highlights not only the cost itself, but also how changes in model pricing can affect real development workflows. If a model that previously fit your usage suddenly consumes significantly more credits, it can change how practical Copilot is for day-to-day work. It may help the GitHub team if users provide specific examples such as:
Personally, I think greater transparency around model costs, usage history, and estimated credit consumption would help users adapt more easily to the new system. Hopefully the Copilot team can continue gathering community feedback and clarify how they plan to balance capability, cost, and long-term value for subscribers. |

It’s been eight days since June 1, but because of the way these AI credits are calculated, my usage has skyrocketed, making it impossible to use the service with peace of mind—I constantly have to worry about how much I’m using, which is a hassle. If major improvements are released while my GitHub Copilot Pro annual subscription is still active, I might return, but given the current situation, I’m distrustful of GitHub (Microsoft) itself for making no announcements whatsoever. If they’re swamped with a flood of inquiries and handling refunds and adjustments, I think they should at least make an announcement for now... But honestly, I don’t really care anymore. :( |

I've already stopped using it; I started stopping it on June 2nd. I've found that I don't absolutely need it anymore. I'm much more comfortable using it now, and I don't have to worry about token issues. Before, I had to pay attention to the percentage of tokens used, but now I don't care at all. I've run three tasks so far; one ran for 77 hours before stopping, and the other two are still running. I have more tokens than I need. I'm very happy that this paid subscription allowed me to find other AI software to replace it. It's really great. |

Copilot in GitHub
Body
We renewed our GitHub Copilot Pro annual contract in May 2026 and are still using it.
I think a lot of people are outraged by the new pricing structure and premium requests replacing credits starting June 1, 2026.
I use it for VisualStudio 2026 C# WindowsForm development and I can almost always fit it in my GPT-5mini.
I have been using it for a year now and have never exceeded the limit and I am a non heavy user category from GitHub.
However, as of noon on June 4, GPT-5.4mini also became 0.33x, adding 0.33x to complex input, output, and intermediate processing.
The code generator is now unusable except in Chat's ASK mode to look for "Code Execution Error Inquiry and Correction Code.
In other words, even ordinary code generation or questioning consumes a large amount of credits and cannot be used properly.
This is like being baited once to use GitHubCopilotPro and then thrown into a pond with no water.
Who will benefit from the new restrictions on GitHubCopilot?
Will GitHubCopilot subscribers benefit?
No. You will pay a large amount of credits and will be capped at 3 or 4 questions, requiring additional credits.
Does GitHub (Micosoft) gain?
Yes, the cost of the program will be reduced.
It will reduce processing resources horribly, reduce operating costs of system systems for AI, and recoup a large amount of excess credits.
This amendment will have a ripple effect on business contractors and large contractors will leave.
Where in the world is GitHub (Micosoft) headed?
We urge GitHub personnel to respond to this message.
