I'd like to suggest adding filtering and sorting options to the Releases page of repositories, similar to the existing UI for viewing Commits.
Currently, it's difficult to navigate releases when a repository has many entries, especially if pre-releases and GitHub Actions-generated releases are involved.
Suggested improvements:
Release Type Filter:
A dropdown or checkbox filter to view:
All (default)
Releases only
Pre-releases only
Date Filter:
A date range filter, similar to the one on the Commits tab.
(Options like "All time", "Past month", or a calendar picker)
Author Filter:
A way to filter by the user who published the release (similar to "All users" in commits)
Sort Order Control:
Allow sorting by publish date (newest/oldest)
Currently, releases sometimes appear out of order, especially when created via GitHub Actions or APIs.
These changes would greatly improve usability and help developers and users find specific releases more easily, especially in active projects.
Thanks for considering! 🙏
